I'm mixed. From what I can see the pros are that they can prevent the bonking discomfort and they're a cute pattern so you have that added benefit.

But from a con side, I can't help but think it would take a hella long time to put on, plus it doesn't look like it would fit every crib (mine has wide slats).

Overall though it seems like a good safe alternative to regular bumpers and another option to the breathable bumper (which I love) if that one doesn't work for your crib.

Checked out the site, and it's looks like such a clever design.

Long separating zippers mean a parent can combine more than one bumper for wider slats, corner posts, or panels.

Safe, super cute, reversible ... I love it.

I guess this prevents them from using the bumper as a step stool to climbing out of the crib too. I definitely need this since DD has been hitting her head against the railings.

I love my breathable bumper--I had some problems getting it fitted on my daughter's crib, so I sent the company an email asking for help. They gave suggestions and even offered to send me another velcro panel to make it fit properly. Now that's good company service.d

Anyway, these look cute, but how good are they at preventing little arms and legs from getting stuck? And I'm not sure they'd fit my crib, the Loom from Nurseryworks, as the slats are different widths apart.

Honestly, I never saw the point of bumpers. I preferred to keep the crib simple and free of too much visual distraction. Also, I thought part of the point with the bumpers was to keep little arms and legs from getting caught between the rails. This doesn't seem to help there...

What a great idea! They zip on, so putting them on doesn't seem too tasking to me, especially when you only have to take one or 2 off to wash them... i would wrestle with the traditional bumpers, changing the sheet was such a chore. with these it would be super easy! On their FAQ page it says it fits almost all cribs, their seems to be a little stretch..AND you can zip 2 together for wider slats. i think tradition bumpers are dangerous and cribs w.o bumpers look like a hard, cold jail cell.. i am going to buy a set, they have some discounts if you search the web and 50% off pillows! amazing invention.. wish I had thought of it!

Big fan of this company. I've seen them at a few baby shows and the owner, Catherine is always super nice!

Looks kind of cool but really, bumpers are so unnecessary. Babies who sleep without them do fine and don't miss them.

i dont think it's them getting caught but them getting hurt. ds always rolls over really hard in the night and wacks his head on the slats. he uses the breathable bumper as a way out of his crib!

If we're talking purely aesthetics, I love the look of this bumper! Nice, modern spin on the traditional bulky pads or the less-than-chic Breathable Bumper. And from a practical standpoint, I think it covers all the bases-- protection from bumps, easy to remove and wash (in small sections) and expandable sizes.

Wow! These things are gorgeous. It looks like you can zip them together for wider rails. It's nice that you can look through and see your baby without having to get close to the crib.

Very nice work!

I think that the bumpers are a necessity. My daughter was always bumping her head and getting bruised. I had purchased a soft mesh netting, but it looked terrible. The wonder bumpers look phenomenal, and I plan no picking some up for a shower gift for my sister.

From a purely aesthetic point of view, I find bumpers ugly -- too fussy and cluttered.

As for them serving any useful purpose, well, the largest study on injuries and deaths in cribs has revealed that there have been no serious injuries to children in cribs without bumpers, however, there have been deaths and serious injuries as a result of the use of bumpers. The researchers conducting the study concluded:

"I don't think bumper pads are doing any good," he says. "Although the deaths and injuries may be rare events, they are preventable by eliminating the use of bumper pads."

Reference: Thach B, Rutherford G, Harris K. Deaths and Injuries Attributed to Infant Crib Bumper Pads. The Journal of Pediatrics. September 2007: 271-274

Sure these are not a continuous strip, but I still find them to be fussy and not worth the effort. And they have probably not yet been carefully evaluated as to their safety, so barring a pronouncement from an independent safety authority, I would not risk it.

These are genius. I don't use a bumper because they are dangerous (entrapment between bumper and mattress, step for climbing out, etc.) but I do like that these offer padding without the risks and a chance for decoration when you can't use comforters, pillows or mobiles (after baby can sit up).
The only thing that keeps me from buying them is that I could SO make these myself at home. If you can sew a straight line and you have some scraps and velcro, you're set. Cheaper and custom sized. Love it! Thanks!

Great design. Nothing is worse than trying to undo 8 dozen knots of ties from those bumper pads!

I did not use bumpers for my other two children, however, I bought these for my newborn and I LOVE THEM!! The Wonder Bumpers were so beautiful on her crib (pictures DO NOT do them justice) I bought some for my one year old daughter's crib/toddler bed AND the matching yummy, soft toddler blanket! She love's how soft the bumpers are and rubs them to fall asleep! These bumpers are HOT! I recommend them to all my friends and family!

I hated my traditional bumper and have never met a mom who had a good experience with theirs either. This new vertical bumper takes the cake. It makes total sense: first off, it's not a suffocation hazard, the babies can't climb on it, it looks easy to put on and off, and it protects their head and body. Even with a conventional bumper they bump their heads. I still don't understand why people use the old bumpers - they're useless. These Wonder Bumpers are totally hot!

Love the designs, great option for those who don't want to use the dangerous traditional bumpers or put their baby in a cold hard crib... I believe that their should be something out there for everyone. Do whatever you want, but these are nice alternative.. not sure how anyone could deny that.
Btw- baby basics line is so cool, you can match with your own stuff!

The Wonder Bumpers are great! Not only are they much more stylish and modern than the traditional bumpers, but they are much safer as well. As a nurse, I recommend these to all new moms or soon-to-be moms. Style & safety all in one!

How annoying. I'm counting at least 5 of the comments above as being left by the Wonder Bumpers company. Shame.

we didn't use a bumper... i was nervous about him getting trapped because he really rolls around a lot. we used the breathable mesh thingie and i DID love it (altho it was tough finding the green color i wanted). he does a lotta moving around, but i think after bumping the first few times he didn't repeat that...

i think bumpers are unneccessary and fussy. but everyone's different and so are their babies!!

My Mom owns a nursery and a full time daycare......TRUST ME- from the blankets to the cribs Go Mama Go understands the needs of the caretaker and of the child. I highly recommend both products they currently have available; In fact I just ordered two more blankets and another set of bumper bads. Thanks Go Mama!!!
