How To: Another IKEA Play Kitchen

bethsDIYikeakitchenTOP.jpgOhdeedoh reader, Beth, sent us an e-mail sharing a great little DIY kitchen she and her husband made for their son's birthday. Inspired by our post on building an kitchen with Ikea components, she writes on her blog, "The original plan was to purchase a play kitchen for Jak's birthday. Because we have no room for it except along the back wall in our real kitchen, I didn't want a big crazy colored plastic one. Instead I wanted a nice wood kitchen. Cute, but affordable..."

She continues,"Wood or metal seemed my only alternatives, but I don't weld and we were facing a birthday deadline so carpentry didn't seem a feasible option. Then, I found this fabulous IKEA hack kitchen on Ohdeedoh. Winner!"

Using the Vattern sink cabinet, which Beth found on clearance for $9.99, along with scraps from the IKEA As-Is department and knobs from Target, they ended up spending $35 to make this lovely play kitchen.

This is much better than most of the kitchens you could purchase and I love that you did it yourselves! Looks so cute!
