How To: Knit Bird Mobile

We have lots of love for all the bird mobiles you've made using Spool Sewing's softie pattern, but there's still love to go around and today we're sharing some with this adorable knitted bird mobile pattern. Oh, and did we mention it's a free pattern?

This seems like the perfect pregnancy project since you could do a bird every few weeks and then piece it all together when you're in full-on nesting mode. The pattern creator, Meg Bakewell, points out that this is a great way to use up yarn remnants since you need only small amounts of different colors. If you're not in need of a mobile you could make just the birds and hang them on your Christmas tree or on a doorknob.

So exciting to see the mobile of one of my favorite babies (the sweet girl who is daughter of my good friend and good friend of my sweet daughter) on my favorite website! She has a super-talented auntie Meg!
