How To: Make a Racing Snail Game

Racing snails? That's a pretty apt analogy for playing a board game with a three-year-old. So why not hit the metaphor out of the park and make this unbelievably cute racing snail game that we spotted over at Ric Rac? And when you're not playing the game, you can keep these little snail buddies around for company. Just look at those eyes! The cuteness!

Jodie provides detailed instructions for making both the snails and the game "board" (actually a fabric panel). What we like about this craft is how unfinicky it is. According to Jodie, the forgiving nature of the felt lets you get away with just sort of eyeballing the dimensions and doing a semi-rough job with the sewing. That's our kind of crafting.
