How To: Moses Basket Bedding

2009-08-moses.jpg

As soon as you announce you're pregnant it seems everyone wants to give you their old Moses basket. Which is a good thing except sometimes the bedding has seen better days or isn't quite your style. Cheryl (Declan's mom) recently made new bedding to use for her third child and, lucky us, has written up a great tutorial so you can do the same.

As Cheryl points out, many Moses baskets aren't expensive, but the bedding can sometimes feel a little cheap so making your own bedding can be a good idea for both old and new Moses baskets. For this project you'll need:

• fabric
• quilt batting
• elastic
• ribbon or bias tape
• thread
• paper to make a pattern
• a link to Cheryl's great photo tutorial!

And while you're there look around at her many craft and family projects - and make sure to wish her good luck on her upcoming arrival!

I respectfully disagree.

As soon as you announce you're pregnant, everyone gives you advices on what to do and what not to do. It's like a national sport.

"And how are you ?"'s and Moses baskets come much, much later.

I had to buy a moses basket off craigslist b/c no one I knew seemed to know what it is. Thank you for the link, I need to make this!

I too had to look around to find my moses basket - but it came with a wooden rocking stand so it was worth the trouble! Unfortunately it also came with this massive bumper - not pretty and a potential suffocation hazard - so I second the thanks for this useful link!
