Knitty OpArt Pattern

knittyopart-pattern.jpgWe sure do loves us some Knitty! They consistently share great patterns by wonderful knitters around the world and the OpArt Blanket pattern is no exception.

According to designer, Melissa Dominguez:

"This pattern also appeals to the developmental process of infant vision. Babies are born color blind, and with very poor vision...They are naturally attracted to high contrast, black and white images, since these are more distinct to them...To an adult, however, it’s a fun, funky pattern with an optical illusion of a square tunnel spiraling away."

That's super cool even if you're not a baby. What's not cool, though, is my complete lack of knitting skills. Drat.

I second Michele's request - any knitters out there to help us out?

i knit and also LOVE this... but a project of this size (even if it's the small one) is a little daunting.... i didn't even knit my OWN little guy a blanket (i think i was a lil superstitious about it).

but i could teach you to knit!!! its very easy!

Reminds me of an old skateboard graphic from the '80s.
