apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Swatch Portraits

2007_05_09_swatchportraits.jpg

This tutorial from The Purl Bee has been making the rounds on the crafty blogs and for good reason. We think it’s a creative and easy way of incorporating your favorite fabrics into the nursery without having to sew a stitch.

All you need is fabric, embroidery hoops, scissors and glue. Follow the simple tutorial here. This is a great way to use up leftover fabric scraps and could also be a beautiful use for old or outgrown children's clothes you feel particularly nostalgic about.

2007_05_09_portraitswatch2.jpg We should also mention that Purl-Soho is a great source for beautiful fabric.

Be sure to check out the Flickr pool set up by The Purl Bee to see how others have made this project their own. If you decide to give this project a go, we'd love to see it, too - just upload your photos to Flickr tagged "apartmenttherapynursery."
