Inspiration: Rainbow Walls

2009-09-rainbow.jpg

If "rainbow" brings to mind loud tie-dyed shirts of the 70's or gaudy cartoon characters of the 80's, you might want to rethink those associations. Check out this sophisticated take on a rainbow (almost an ombre effect) in a little girl's room.

This bedroom is part of a fabulous "Sneak Peek" feature of Joy Thigpen's home at Design*Sponge and we hope you'll check out the rest (including another unique wall treatment in her son's room). Although this would be a time-consuming project, Joy reports that it wasn't costly as she was able to use inexpensive paint samples. Just lovely.

I would never do this in anything but a child's room.

While it's not my style per se, I think it looks really great and could be beautiful in just the right room!

I tried to do a blue fade to green in my boys' room, and I am admittedly NOT artistic, but it looked like hell!
