Another Use for the IKEA Bekvam Step Stool

2009-09-30-bekvam.jpg

We love our Bekvam step stool from IKEA and so do lots of other folks. We've seen it left as is, dressed up, and even used as a mini play kitchen. But check out this awesome alternative use just for kids after the jump...

Use it as an all-in-one school desk set. We spotted this adorable photo over at Lovely Design blog - the young artiste at work. Simple and smart!

Oh that brings back memories! When my son was that age, he used it as a mini chair and table...he ate all his meals there. So cute.

We also use it as a chair-table combo for our 2-year-old. She eats, does puzzles, and occasionally does crafts using the stool. If I were inclined to use power tools, I think four or six connected together would be an adorable toddler picnic table. And for a bit less money than other wooden picnic tables I've seen.

Oh Yolanda...that's a *great* idea! I'm definitely filing that away for future use :-)

My girls love doing this. I love that they were the ones to figure it out and not me. I only saw a step stool and they saw a child size desk, step stool, and picnic table.

My little guy (a little over one) thinks its the stairway to the stovetop. He keeps climbing it, even when he can't reach the counters from it. How long until he's sitting cheerfully?
