Big Girl Room Update: From Magazine to Real Life

Back in February, Emily e-mailed a Good Question asking us for bedding and room decor ideas as she had, "...found this room in the January 2009 issue of Living Etc. It has become the inspiration for my daughter's 'big girl room.'"

Emily had already found similar bunk beds and a rug that would work with the look she was going for. Fast forward to today, Emily has completed her Big Girl room make over and shared her results with us, "I had a lot of fun putting the room together and think it turned out just as I had imagined it thanks to the inspiration and resources your site and readers provided."

Emily's interpretation of the bed is almost spot on. We love the curtains/canopy on the bunk beds and the fabric soft storage boxes under the beds are a great touch. Emily certainly captured the spirit of the room with the green flower wall decals, bright white walls and hanging star lamp while still making it all her own.

The duvet on the top bunk is from IKEA, the sheets for both bunks are from J.C. Penney; the quilt on the bottom bunk is from Dragonfly Stitches. The decals are by MarkJamesDesign.

What a great job! Thank you for sharing, Emily.

Beautiful!
Where, oh where did you find the curtain track for the top bunk bed? I've been searching for sources on one of those.
