Birthday Wrapping

082809partyidea.jpgThis is one of those simple and sweet ideas that we see and tuck away...wrap your child's gifts in plain paper- the choice of white here is nice- and write words that describe your child on each one.

We found the idea over at More Mom Time and think it's a keeper. You could use the idea for a group of smaller gifts from you or even wrap gifts from friends and families to match.

I have actually been collecting bags recently for presents--tote bags made out of the plastic coated fabric. they have them at target in the dollar section when you first enter the store. they had dr. seuss ones about a month ago and ones that were supposed to be for back to school with letters on them last week. they are cute, durable, and relatively cheap for something I figure will get reused.

the plain paper is a cute idea. when we give gifts, i trace the outline of my 3 year old's hands, cut them out and use them as the To & From tags. i have been doing this for a while and my mom saves them to show how much she has grown. since she can't write her name yet, i think it's a cute way of personalizing.

I use plain colored paper for all our kids gifts... most things in our house are color coded!!! Their plates, their towels, their bedding, their bandanas... and their gifts... I keep a stack of rolls, each kidlet has their own color. As I buy a gift to stash away I wrap it in the corresponding color (just in case of snooping!) when their birthday or Christmas comes around I have a stash of gifts wrapped for each kid ready and good to go... and there is no confusion: the blue kid would never open a red present and so on. Works for us!

monthcalledmae... what a GREAT idea w/the tracing of the hands as gift tags! we recycled grocery bags and our little colored in red & green and that was our christmas wrapping... this year we'll do the same BUT will use your hand tags idea as well!!!!
