apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Christina Aguilera's Nursery

2008-02-20-christina.jpg

Check out the picture of the nursery Christina Aguilera created for her newborn son Max. It's always fun to see what celebrities choose when price is no object.

We're definitely envious of the size of the room and the mural on the back wall looks great. But we're not so sure about the big, scary crescent moon. Readers, tell us what you think.

tacky and ostentatious. but I guess that would be par for the course.

I caught a glimpse of this picture on the cover of People, and yes, that moon creeped me out. Like over-the-edge creepy.

But hey... I don't have to live there!

Wow! Surprise, surprise! The person with no taste in music also has no taste in home decoration. Now that's news for Fox.

Not a fan of the moon either, but I heard her tell Ellen that it was a set piece from her tour so she wanted to include it. I guess it was sentimental.

That moon is terrifying! Poor kid is going to have nightmares about celestial objects.

I'm sorry, but this is beautiful, no matter what you say...

Someone had to say that, right?

Nix the creepy moon and it'd be a perfectly lovely nursery.

Oh, that's a moon?

I thought it was a giant, angry banana.

Either way, I wouldn't want it staring at me every morning, no-siree-bob.

It looks like Ugly threw up all over that room.

Poor kid.

Yes, I saw her on Ellen this past week. Ellen didn't like the moon either, so she gave Xtina a giant moon with Ellen's face on it. I'd take a moon with Ellen's face on it any day, nursery or no nursery!

I think this kid has the best chances of turning out un-hurt by celeb parents of any of this current batch... but I also bet that as soon as he can talk, he'll complain about the scary moon, and it'll be gone.

That moon scares ME, and I'm a grown-up. Yikes.

Cut out the scary face, rebuild the top with stairs, and voila you'll have an instant slide!
Oh wait. That pointy end would hurt like no other on the way down.. so, never mind. Scratch that.

No scary moon!

So scary. The moon, the sharp scythe and star (reminds me of the USSR flag) on the top of the crib, the firetrap crib curtains, the creepy white zeppelin with eyes on the wall AND the crib? Looks a bit like an acid trip to me.

Glad it's not mine, no matter what it cost.

Christina Aguilara and I have very different tastes.

Funny, before I even saw who the nursery belonged to and read the other comments I knew there would be a lot of "scary moon" comments. LOL My thoughts exactly.

By the way who is Xtina?

When Max was ask for his thoughts.....

"Big moon wants to kill me!," screamed baby Max.

should be "asked"....

After reading the other posts, I have to say the nursery is cute, minus the moon. But since she was pregnant while touring, I can see why she would want it. I couldn't imagine touring and being pregnant!!

I think everything is cute aside from the moon as well. I mean, classy, minimalist design in all neutrals and clean lines may be nice for adults, but lord how un-childlike that look is! This is a bit kawaii and I think it's great for a kid(or me, but I don't have to admit that! lol).

It looks like Katamari Damaci!

I love it. Though, admittedly, the moon is a bit intense.

I'm surprised how ready y'all are to hate on this!

ok, here comes a comment from a complete celebrity cynic.....

she likely spent well over 20k on that room..... Of course that is a reasonable budget for a wealthy person.... but it also is a perfect starter room for another 'poor little rich girl'. The poor kid will have all the stuff it ever needs, and the love and attention every child truly needs will likely be erratically dished out in a thimble......

Since spoiling children is never good parenting, it seems this over-the-top room with a giant angry moon is not a good parenting start.
