Confetti Eggs

It's hard to believe it's almost here- the New Year. Well, we found this fun craft that's sure to be a big hit with the kids if they can manage to stay up that late.

You don't need much to make these fun eggs- eggs of course, newspaper, acrylic craft paint, glue, and the best part- you get to recycle all of those catalogs you keep getting in the mail this time of year by making them into the confetti.

At midnight, you just crack the egg on someone's head to begin the celebration- we love that.

This idea comes from Maya Made, but you can find her complete instructions over at Small Magazine online where this craft was featured.

This is a tradition in Mexico during Easter. They're called Cascarones. Kids LOVE them.

These are so much fun. Just be careful to only glue paper over the hole. If you decide to decorate the entire outside with bits of paper, they get pretty hard and either will not break or leave a bump on your friends' head! Great idea for New Years!
