DIY Mini Diorama Ornaments

Growing up, our favorite ornament adorning our parents Christmas tree was a small pink egg with glittering snow and a baby deer inside. It captured our imagination each year as it was unpacked. Teri over at Giddy Giddy has been hard at work making her own mini holiday diy dioramas and has been so kind to share a tutorial to make your own!

Teri started out with The Paper Source, blank slate, half-ball ornaments that are being sold year. You can pick them up on their website for $1.50. We're guessing local craft stores might have something similar if you scout around, although at that price, if you only wanted to make a few, we think it's a purchase well made (and one to watch for come post-holiday clearance time)!

Teri scouted around her home and found little bits of this and that, which might work to be placed inside each ornament once painted. She found cake toppers, lost toys and all sorts of little things hiding in forgotten corners around the house. Each one was glued down and has its own personality and punch with their bright colors and un-traditional themes.

They'd be fun as a random addition to your tree, or make one for a baby or wedding shower which is a far superior alternative to other ornaments commemorating such events.

Make sure you head over to Giddy Giddy for further instructions and more pictures of her fabulous creations.

Thanks Teri!
