Good Idea: Painting Radiator Covers

2009-10-08-radiator.jpg

If you live in an older home you may have radiators in each room. Courtney of Two Straight Lines decided to paint the radiator cover in her son's room using chalkboard paint.

It's a great way to work with the room and make the best of it. The chalkboard paint turns a potential eyesore into a great kid-friendly feature.

It looks nice and would be fun during the warm months.

However radiators and their covers get very hot in the winter when the heat comes on. Hopefully her kids are old enough to understand that when the heat is on it's no longer a fun toy to doodle on.

That's awesome that you can sit on yours! Ours got so hot that they gave us one blistery burn. We learned fast not to touch them!

I was curious why ours don't get too hot, so I asked my husband, and he said ours were hot water and not steam. Maybe you have steam?
