Honey Bear's Clementine Crate Bed

It's clementine season which also means it's the time of year when we stack up our empty crates with the best intentions to reuse them and, inevitably, get busy or lazy or both and end up throwing them away. And feeling guilty about it. Courtney of Two Straight Lines averted that guilt this year by making a simple bed for her son's Honey Bear.

A cloth diaper became Honey Bear's mattress, a washcloth for a blanket and a small pincushion to cradle his head. Sweet and simple. Since clementine crates have small "feet" you could also turn them upside down for a slightly different bed. See Honey Bear and other inspiring posts at Two Straight Lines.

In the past I've collected clementine boxes and used them as mini gardens for kids. (I run a Story Time program) The boxes are just the right size for the kids to organize their garden how they want with several types of plants, and it was portable! The kids can also customize the box with paints if you have enough time.
