How To: Create a Space of Your Own

You don't need a whole room or anything quite that luxurious- but just carving out even a little nook might make you feel more like yourself. Find out how to create your own at-home sanctuary below the jump...

Over at Family Groove, lifestyle expert Colleen Mullaney had this to say:

"Pick a space. For some women, it might be a favorite corner of a room, a kitchen nook or a closet converted to hobby central. For others, a small room, patio or sunporch. Whatever it is, no matter how large or small, these spaces will be used to do one thing: nurture the mind, body and spirit."

It can be as simple as a comfortable chair with a basket of your favorite books or magazines beside it and a place for a hot cup of tea.

Where's your favorite sanctuary?

My hubby gave up his office in our house and gave it to me!

We actually bought an amazing chaise for me and placed it in the nursery. It's amazing for naps, reading, did I mention naps? LOL. It sits next to two huge windows where I can look out over one of the best views in the house.

And I agree, we all need a 'space' to go to for retreat. It makes a world of difference.
