apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Inspiration: Anouk's Room

anouksbedroom-PIC1.jpgCamille sent us an e-mail sharing photos of her daughter's lovely room. Anouk's space is filled with a playful arrangement of color and attention to detail. The bright rust-colored walls serve as a colorful backdrop to Anouk's play space and sleeping areas.

We love the cozy inviting corner which is perfect for reading books, snuggling with a special someone or perhaps just a quick nap.anouksroompic2.jpg

One of our favorite items in Anouk's room is the unicorn rocker. What a great find!anouksromoPIC4.jpg

Thank you for sharing, Camille and be sure to send us your nursery, playroom, bedroom pics to nursery (at) apartmenttherapy (dot) com.

What a great room! I want to know about that playhouse in the first photo! Is that a diy project or a purchase?

This room is totally darling! Just the corner of the fisher-price record player brought back a whole flood of childhood to me!

The warm color on the walls definitely makes this room. Is that a lazure treatment? I want to paint my daughter's room in pumpkin orange because I am intimidated by lazuring. Was the technique, lazure or not, hard to do?

Wonderful! Love the toadstools, vintage toys, lamp(?) w/ girl on it w/ orange base, unicorn rocker, and adorable shingled playhouse. Please share all of your sources!

So , a lot of question and my english is very bad...

The unicorn rocker first is of my own. I stitched entirely by hand from an old rocking horse of the 1970s.

The playhouse is from my mother who also sews. It's an improvisation, no pattern sorry.

The walls are covered with white plaster and a wood made with sponge. It was like this when we arrived in the house, it's not of my own, sorry . I can't tell more about this.

The ceiling light is my own création also.

My daughter's room is only fulfilled my creations or objects found in stock sales, Antiques. Each object is unique and I can not tell you where you buy them, sorry.

You can see more here.

What a lovely room! You can really tell that the objects are unique and/or handmade. The room is so great, and I've never seen one quite like it. Fantastic!
