The bed seems scratchy. Is it as rough as it looks when you touch it? Because wow would that be uncomfortable to lie in.

no the bed is not scratchy at all. it is the patina of the paint, but everything is safe and sealed. all furniture is lead checked (none at all) and perfectly safe for kids!!!
