Inspiration From Zara Home

2007-04-11-zarahome.jpg

The nursery is on everyone's minds. Case in point: the Zara Home autumn/winter catalog.

No retail locations here in the States yet, but Zara Home still inspires. A peek inside the catalog revealed this charming nursery. The wall storage unit and stone floors, admittedly not an ideal surface for baby, are stunners.

The calming, creamy tones are restful to the eye.

Pops of color in the embroidered wall hanging and woven hamper are subtle and well-edited. We think the look and feel of this nursery can be recreated, even without the benefit of the architectural details.

So what's the merchandise for sale in this room - the wall hanging? hamper? rug? Our only experience with Zara was in Spain, prior to the birth of Zara Home, and for clothing in the States. Has anyone shopped Zara Home? Please give us the details!

I've shopped at Zara Home in Spain and I looooove it :) I have a tablecloth and a few picture frames as well as a small bowl I keep on my dresser to toss hair clips and elastics in. Personally I think they have kind of an Anthropologie vibe happening but much more reasonable prices. They also have more basics than Anthro does ie basic white dishes/table linens/bed linens.

As far as baby things go, they actually have a Zara Home JUST for kids that carries lots and lots of dinnerware and bed linens. I can't remember what it's called. I bought a cute set of plastic dishes for a friend's kid there once and a little white ceramic dish with colorful elephants painted on it for my own bathroom, they had very cute stuff.

I wish they would open a store stateside, until then I'll just have to fill up on trips to visit family in Spain!

bluestar - that sounds so awesome. Is the store for kids located in Madrid? I hope to shop it soon. Thanks so much for sharing the details.

The store for kids that I know of for sure is in a mall just outside central Madrid called La Moraleja. I don't know if public transportation goes out there (I *think* it does in the form of buses) because we always just drive, but maybe the website gives more info about other locations.

In any case, the bigger Zara Home stores usually have at least a little corner devoted to the kid stuff so you'll be able to get some of the kid stuff and there's a HUGE Zara Home store in Madrid but I don't remember exactly where...

Hi! I'm from madrid and practically every Zara Home has a corner devoted to kid's stuff, mostly cribs, sheets and blankets, plates and towels etc. The locations I know of, aswell as the one in La Moraleja, are in Paseo de la Habana and Orense, but there is bound to be one in one of the touristy areas...
