Inspiration: Big Toy Storage for Big Toy Collections

We field a lot of questions about how to manage burgeoning collections of stuffed toys, so when we saw this gorgeous stadium-style modular storage system in a model nursery created by designer Nicoletta Bertolissi, we may have actually swooned a little bit.

The storage system itself is by the Italian companies Cistà+Microfox, so it may be hard to come by on this side of the ocean. But we can't help but think this system could be creatively replicated with modular items you can pick up at Ikea or the Container Store.

Nice concept... but every toy my child has is bigger than a bread box. I'd go crazy if she has some little widget to fit each hole.

It looks very cool. I can't help but think that most toddlers would use it as a climbing wall though.

::shudders:: at the thought of dusting all of those cubbies, not to mention - spider habitats.
less nooks & crannies, thaks.

Wow! Looks amazing though I agree that climbing could be an issue :)

this looks awesome for a decor magazine but i agree with the other commenters - highly impractical. also, it looks nice now with it partially filled...i cannot imagine filling the entire thing. does one child need that many toys?!?

ha - now i sound like my father...

I think it makes the nursery look too much like a toy store. But I love that rocking horse!

It does look cool for a model home or magazine, but for a real home? It seems like a huge dust-gatherer.

Maybe assign points to the cubbies and start throwing balls or bean bags up in them as a game!

It looks really cool - I don't know if I would choose it because of the reasons given by other commenters, but it still looks cool.

I think it looks too much like a store display. Which makes it feel, to me, very impersonal, and not something you would find in a real home. Totally not my thing. Meh.

I don't think a lot of toys would fit in those cubbies. Plus I see all of my kids climbing that!

Forget the kids! I need those in my closet for my shoes! (I wish I had that many shoes...ahhh, nice dream)

Definitely designed for the parent, not the child. Ick.

My son would break his neck in twelve seconds flat if we had one of those. Clearly designed by someone who thinks the inhabitant of this nursery is going to sleep sweetly in the crib until third grade.

Think this would fit my husband's toys better than my daughter's. She'd be climbing them in a hot minute.
