Inspiration: Organizing Your Art + Homework Supplies

2009-02-12-honeycomb.jpg

We always enjoy ogling unique storage ideas, especially storage and organization of small items. Arts/crafts and homework supplies like pencils, erasers, clips, stickers, crayons, and paper, easily can look messy if not corralled. A storage piece like this industrial honeycomb shelf (found at a rummage sale) with small cubbies is ideal.

We were inspired by Denise's (of d.Sharp Journal) studio. She even makes the most mundane office supplies look tempting. A well-stocked and organized space can help entice your little ones to engage in more art projects, and maybe even motivate older ones to get a jump on homework assignments.

The honeycomb unit looks cool, but I would slice my finger / hand open inside of two minutes

We have a dresser next to our dining room table packed with arts and craft goodies - I revamp it every couple of months: old markers out, sharpen pencils, rearrange, just to keep it fresh and interesting. It's the perfect spot and projects have to be cleaned up for the next meal - which means no lingering mess for weeks on end - that's just so that I can breathe!

You are welcome to visit our dresser:
