apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Inspiration: Parisian Chic

We're in the home stretch of our Kids' Color Contest here at Ohdeedoh, and yes, we have seen some stunners. Lots of eye-popping color on the wall, in textiles and accessories. But how about this dramatic use of black and white in the nursery of two-year old Thomas?

2008-11-10-tom2.JPGThe sliding closet doors, painted in magnetic chalkboard paint, are a great feature, as is the closet itself (we can see little bits of the shelving inside). We also love the white forest wall behind the crib. Our favorite of course is the grand tipi lined in sheepskin.

Ohdeedoh readers, what do you love about this nursery?

Does anyone know where that teepee is from or at least where I can find something similar?

Wallpaper is by Cole & Son it's called Woods. It's available from many places and in several colors. The reverse grey with white etches is really cool.

This nursery is really beautiful, it sets a mood that I like. It seems calm and makes sense. My daughter's nursery is all pink, which I love, but I also appreciate these dark grey tone rooms. If you like this room check out the baby room from J. Crew creative director Jenna Lyons, another well done dark nursery.

The Teepee is from Habitat.fr (probably available in the UK as well) and the sheepskin is separate. Habitat comes out with a new colored teepee every season. I bought this one about three years ago. Thomas' curtains (not shown here) are pistachio colored to set off the black, white and taupe of the walls, which gives the room a bit more punch.

Laurenroberts:
You should check out walnut wallpaper (www.walnutwallpaper.com). They have a really great selection of beautiful wallpaper that I found very inspiring! (Not that I have any wallpaper currently in my house, mind you. I must have been inspired in some other way...)
