Jennifer posted this children's room on her blog, Minor Details, asking readers whether or not they think the matryoshka mural is too off-scale for the room. (Our opinion: Kinda.) But we loved so many other elements of this room, not least the Valentine's Day timeliness of the color scheme, that we had to share it here.
Or maybe we're the only ones who are suckers for crochet, toile wallpaper, and Panton chairs. (Strangely, with regard to the latter, we love them for children but are indifferent to them for grownups.) All these bold red and hot pink elements are a great take on inviting color into a white or neutral space.

Are those babushka dolls really on the wall? (They look like they are photoshopped in.) I think they definitely dwarf the kids, that can't be good - maybe stick just one in the third size up, down by the baseboards? If they were on a red wall, they might not stand out so much, but still - I'm not crazy about this one.

That mural is kind of freaking me out. Not good.

Creepy. It looks photoshopped.

If they were visually standing on the floor, with the biggest one farthest from the bed, that would be okay, but this, this is terrible...
Love the other things in the room though, especially the granny square blankie and pillow!

I agree - the mural is a little off. But the room itself is lovely. Perhaps a picture or something else with red in it?

Love the room. Ditch the wall decals. Totally out of scale. Totally creepy. But everything else is perfection for a kid space. Love the chair. LOVE the red.

I like the dolls on the wall.

Love the red! Note to parents out there with the frilliana pink & purple princess decorating schemes in their girls' rooms: why not switch to glorious red?
I totally agree with mschatelaine re: a better placement for the dolls.
