Tirzha tells us, "I love design...but due to many factors I suffer from not being able to afford most of the things I see unless it's a DIY project. So, I went on a mission to redesign my toddler's room with as little money as possible. As much as I'd love to fill it with non-generic designer items, it's not possible right now (and not practical for my toddler!) I think I was able to pull of a clean, adorable look for very little money."
We hear you, Tirzha. Some of the items in the room makeover included:
• Bedding, pillow, rug from Target, $60
• BHG taffeta sun blocking curtains from Walmart, $30
• Chair from ARC thrift store, $5.50
• Hanging Pom-Poms, $5.50 for supplies (fishing line and tissue paper)
• Paint found on Craigslist, free
What a great job of planning and executing the perfect room for Anna. Thank you for sharing, Tirzha! For more photos and makeover tips, visit Tirzha's Web site Not Your Average Mama.
Wow! I saw this EXACT chair (but painted white) being sold at a garage sale this weekend for $50! I love it in yellow.

I am really loving the pop of color the yellow gives, too! The chair was white when I bought it, but the paint was old and chipping. And there is already so much white in this room, so yellow it had to be! I don't think I'd pay $50 for something I know I can find at a thrift store for less! As a side note, it's a funny kind of interesting to see a part of my home on this site :)

Looks way better. I really like the Matryoshka Doll collection in their own cubbies and the updated Tree mural on the wall.
