More Inspiration: Everyday Life With Children

2009-02-03-mil1.jpg

We recently blogged about Everyday Life With Children and how to incorporate all of their "stuff" into the house in a beautiful, cohesive way. Here's another example of the seamless inclusion of new baby pieces into the living room. We found some inspiring photos over at Making It Lovely. Jump below to see more...

We love Nicole's idea of putting a cradle and a rocker right in the living room where a lot of family time happens. The traditional lines of the Jenny Lind cradle and the modern Eames rocker look great with the rest of the room.

You can check out Nicole's blog for more photos.

looks great! hopefully nicole's back can handle the eames rocker. it's not the most comfortable chair, that's for sure.

Janek - it looks a lot like the one from WestElm...

I remember there being a smaller one - Take a peek at nicoles blog, it's fabulous, and she should have refrence to it.

Oh, thanks so much for showing my living room!

The TV stand was indeed from west elm and the couch is Jasper from Room and Board. The rug is by Madeline Weinrib, and I bought it at ABC Carpet and Home in NYC.

First, Nicole has great style and it's cool that she shares her inspiration. I love her new living room additions.

Second, remember that this is Nicole's FIRST kid (not yet born), and she hasn't had to 'fight the plastic' yet. So where this is a good example of maintaining design interest with kids, it's a bit unrealistic.

I'm just sayin'....

I agree with mummyhc. I'd love to see this room when her first child is 3 and she has a 1 year old. I bet it doesn't look ANYTHING like this then.

But, it is a beautiful room.
