Origami Paper Covered Eggs

2009-03-25-japaneseeggs.jpg

This Easter try a sophisticated, Asian-inspired technique when decorating eggs. Who else but Martha would show us such a great idea? You'll need some blown-out eggs or wooden craft eggs. Jump below to see what else you'll need.

Gather a pair of small scissors, a small paint brush, Mod Podge and the best looking origami paper you can find. Cut a rectangle a bit larger than the egg, fold the paper in half lengthwise and then cut 1/4" strips stopping 1/4" from the fold. Brush the unprinted side of paper with Mod Podge and wrap around egg. Then proceed to brush cut strips with Mod Podge, pressing gently against egg. Finally, seal half of egg with Mod Podge, allow to dry and then seal other side. You can check out Martha's website for more detailed instructions.
