The poshest of the posh can still inspire those on the strictest of budgets. These nurseries are designed to sell as a unit (but available as separates), and although we prefer more mixing and matching, if you admire classic looks you may find elements of inspiration here:

What's with bumpers in the crib of every "fancy" nursery? Do people not realize it isn't safe or do they just care about decorating more than safety??

I was wondering the same thing! There are also optons out there today that are mesh-based and that feeds through the slats of the cribs so baby cannot suffocate or get stuck in the slats (the two ends of the spectrum relating to this conversation topic).

wow - the bedding for the "modern explorer" nursery is almost $700. i made my own using the same fabric (alexander henry 2-D zoo) for about $100

i used my bumper untill our son started rolling then took all blankets toys out of the crib. i also had a mobile and once he could stand took that out too. i think the bumper was more for him feeling security than anything.
i love these posh bedrooms they have some really great ideas...prices are out of my range by far. i am currently looking for ideas for a bright aqua and red nursery...not finding much.

Isn't a bumper supposed to go between the mattress and the crib if you're using one? That would mean only a bit of fabric would stick up beyond the mattress, making is safer, no?

"I'm bound to like at least one of them", I tought. I thought wrong. Don't confuse "fancy" and "lacy".
Excellent inspiration for what not to do. It's posh, but not elegant. Talk about too much... it'd be a great doll house though.

Of course the problem is that, once you make a baby's room like this you inevitably have to start over once they decide that they don't want a 'baby' room anymore. Minimalist is the way to go...that way, you only have to add to it, not do a complete overhaul.
