Sono Tube Storage Bins

2009-10-sonotubeshelves.jpg

Maybe we should be spending more time at Home Depot. If we did we might come up with something clever like these stackable storage bins made from sono tubes (heavy cardboard tubes used for pouring concrete columns). We think this could be a pretty perfect way to wrangle toys and stuffed animals.

Kirsty lives in Melbourne and is the DIY mind behind this sono tube project. She turned three large tubes on their sides and fastened them, along with three small ones, together with nylon webbing and velcro. The cost? About $6 Australian - excellent! Here in the States, sono tubing is sold in most home improvement stores like Home Depot or Lowes as well as some large hardware stores. You could use any number of tubes and configure them however you like.

See what else Kirsty is up to at her blog Kootoyoo.

Happy Apples make me happy. Not crazy about the bins, but the apple's great.

I think they're a pretty cool idea! And with the straps on, I don't see how they would fall over or anything.
