What do you think? Newborns do sleep pretty soundly so we're wondering why we didn't think of this? A few adjustments- throw in a cute hat for a prop and voila- you've got a beautiful keepsake of those first few weeks. I think we were just so happy she was sleeping, we didn't dare do anything to jeopardize that.

Oh my these are the sweetest thing ever.

Oh my goodness, sooooo cute. And yet tasteful, not overdone--but so, soooo cute. It makes me wish I could turn back time to get a pic of my daughter like this!

Babies are beautiful as they are. Why add props and pose them?

How are these remotely creepy? They are just pictures of sleeping babies and some are wearing hats. Does that make all sleeping baby pictures creepy too?
I think they are adorable.

I really like the first two, but I love babies, so maybe that makes me biased :)

I think they're beautiful. I love the ones with the natural looking fibers and the cocoons around the babes.

remembering how little sleep i got with the first one, not to mention not being able to get around those first few weeks. this would be a great time for dad to take the baby to the shoot and let momma get some much needed rest. what a great gift for the mother!

we had pics of the boys taken when they were about 4 weeks old (not even to their due date yet) and they're so sweet and squishy and tiny. i wish we'd though of hats, though. love those!

kind of creepy to contort the babies into these somewhat unnatural poses

Creepy? It's creepy that you would use that word.
Contort? Have you held a newborn?
Those pictures are beautiful and each one made me smile and giggle. Beautiful.

We tried from day one to get sleeping pictures of our daughter, and everytime we'd get started, she would wake
up and stay awake the whole time. :( She just knew that photographer was there and did not want to take pictures!

These are magnificent and beautiful.
Neither creepy nor contorted...as babies are so flexible it could be very well that once laid down, they "contorted" themselves into this position.
This is genius and it is such a wonderful gift to give to the parents of a newborn!

Agree with Jackied. Between recovering from the delivery and not getting any sleep was a good reason why I didn't get too many newborn pics. It is a good project for the dad or a relative or friend to do. Take the kid to the photographer/or do it themselves and let the mom get some sleep!
