Super Cool Chair Tent

102309-chairtent.jpg One of the biggest problems we always had when making forts and tents out of the kitchen and living room chairs was getting our blankets to stay put. Inevitably someone would step on a blanket and pull off whatever was weighing it down. This great "tent hack" solves that and isn't hard to recreate at home....

This tent modification will require two twin flat sheets or 1 queen size sheet. It's a great way to clean out your closet and recycle something old, or hit up your local thrift store for an inexpensive find. This tent removes quickly and easily and folds up for easy storage (we suggest in a pillowcase) and doesn't require anything else to weigh it down while in use.

Check out the full step-by-step tutorial over at Instructables for a complete list of materials and directions.

We think this project has many great possibilities, not just for your own home, but for others as well. It would make a great diy Christmas or birthday present for a friend or family member. Customize a mailbox on the outside with their name and they'll be happy as a clam until they outgrow it!

Perhaps, Griffin, you should have stayed in bed today.

About the TENT...it's a cute idea, but it kind of defeats the purpose of chair tents. Kids are supposed to spend the whole afternoon getting creative and gathering stuff from all over the house to build. This seems to suck the fun/creativity factor right out.

I think it's a cute idea. I would have loved it when I was a kid and it would have saved my cousin's nose from the giant gash she received from the brick we used to prop the blankets--ouch! My mom would not have approved had we been spotted dragging those in from outside. I think it was fun to set-up but equally fun to play inside it so I say, great idea and definitely much safer than what we used!
