Using Grown-Up Furnishings in the Nursery

2009-09-09-adult.jpg

For those of you who dislike anything too cutesy, consider using grown-up furnishings in the nursery.

With the exception of this great aqua crib, nothing in the room screams baby. The pale grey painted walls, hot pink patterned wallpaper, crystal chandelier and dark wood dresser are all "grown-up" items. You can get an interesting and sophisticated looking nursery by shopping in your favorite home furnishing stores or repurposing items you already own.

Actually, I think that dresser is painted something metallic. Silver or pewter. Would love to know the paint color or something similar. It's gorgeous!

I'm in LOVE with this room and now regretting that maybe I've gone a bit too baby in my own nursery-in-progress! Maybe I'll just steal the wallpaper-one-wall idea later down the line...

Love it! My bed is the same color as the crib.
