Entry #18: Maya's Modern Nature

00maya-entrypic1.jpg

Name: Bryony
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Children: Maya Belle, 18 months

Inspiration: A modern take on nature's earth tones, as admired by two graphic designers who balked at the idea of a traditional nursery. With a different color in each room of the house, Maya's room is a small and simple space that brings in colors from other rooms--sand, green, brown.

Inspiration continued:
With great storage we were able to keep the lines simple and uninterrupted by clothes and toys which are readily available for use by little hands.

Tip for Using Color: Keep it simple, focusing on two or three main colors but allow secondary elements to bring in an eclectic mix.

Colors Used: Behr - My chips are currently in storage, but I think it was something like this: 205B-7, crushed orange 740C-1, seaside sand

I love the storage system with all the bins. Does anyone know where I could get that or something similar?

I LOVE this nursery. I love those monster stickers, I love the rug, I LOVE the lamp on the changing table. I wish I could do something like this in our bedroom without seeming totally deranged.

L-O-V-E the color choices. Best of all, baby might not think the colors are too "babyish" when he/she gets a bit older :)
