Name: Keren
Location: Brooklyn
Child: Neko, 8 mos
Inspiration: Our starting point were vintage 1960's tourism posters from Israel, bought years before a baby was even the horizon. We framed them and needed a color to balance the brick wall, the extremely small dimensions of the room, and the strong graphics and orange tonality of the images. The cool gray wall set off a room that had to be unisex (pink touches were added later) and allowed us to create a small well balanced composition.

Tip for Using Color: Children are more sensitive to their surroundings than most adults realize. Overwhelming their system with too much color, sound or even pattern is something that should be avoided. Color should be something that is powerful but almost taken for granted in the over all scheme of things - creating an interior that works as a place for rest, play and growth.

Colors Used: Sherwin Williams - Aura - Low VOC for better indoor air quality!

I love it but I do find having the crib next to a brick wall seems a bit cold/harsh.... either way, soooo sweet and creative!!
