Name: Angie
Location: North Carolina
Child: Cora 6, Noah 3
Inspiration: Our little one's favorite color (purple) and her spunky personality guided the thought process behind this room. Much of the room was decorated with handmade and repurposed items to keep costs low. The platform bed was made from an outdated 80's king size platform bed. We simply cut it to about 18" wider than a twin size mattress and added a plywood top.

A handmade side cushion is perfect for reading bedtime stories and the drawers underneath are easily accessible for little hands. The whimsical light fixture originally hung above the dining area in our home. It quickly came down and we covered the brass with bright paint, faux pearl strands, bright pink trim and polka dots. Tag sale finds such as a chenille spread hung as a curtain, 1960's button tufted chair and a vintage chest of drawers completes the electic look!

Tip for Using Color: Use basic color theory when picking color combinations. I chose my scheme by using opposities. Each color has an opposite. Once you have chosen your main color google a color wheel and see what color lies directly opposite your main color.

For this room I chose two colors side-by-side on the color wheel (purple and pink). And for the accent color I picked the yellow green because green and yellow are directly across from pink and purple on the color wheel
