Name: AdrienneVictoria
Location: San Jose, California
Child: Élodie Victoria, 20 months
Inspiration: I wanted something joyful, exuberant and unabashedly girlish for my little girl. After looking at a lot of beautiful bedding that I couldn't afford, I ended up going to a fabric store and looking around until I found something that I loved. I matched the wall color to the fabric, and the rest fell into place fairly easily.

Tip for Using Color: My tip is just... don't be afraid! When I showed this room to people before my daughter was born, they either said "Hey, this is great!" or "Whoa, she's *never* going to go to sleep in here." That made me a bit nervous... but, happily, she has been a excellent sleeper from the very start. So I think what matters most is how YOU feel in the room. If it makes you feel agitated, then try something else; if it makes you feel happy, hooray! Go with it. There will be plenty of time, as your child gets older, for her to tell you exactly what makes HER happy.
Colors Used: Walls: Behr's Orchid Rose. Ceiling: Behr's Candy Coated. Trim: Behr's Popped Corn

absolutely beautiful!! I love this color - so bright and cheery! And the white tree on the wall really adds an element of dimension to the room.

I love the tree, and how the white tree and crib look against the pink walls. The ceiling is great too!

I LOVE this room. One nice thing about the color is that it will grow with the baby - it isn't so babyish that it will need to be changed after a couple of years. Even a preteen would love this room color.
The brown as an accent color really grounds the pink and the white is a crisp, cheerful contrast.
The room is well balanced with nice accents to pull it all together.
A 5 ***** with me!

Love the room-the tree, the raspberry color, everything! How did you do the tree? Is it paint or a decal? If paint, did you use a stencil or pattern? Thanks

I love this room! It is definitely not an overpowering color, it evokes the happy mood you were going for.

Great room! I particularly like the birds in the mobile (against the tree background).
My daughter had a pink-theme room also; but not as well-designed as this one. I'll ask her to take a look.
Any other projects underway?

Love the bold pink. Great idea to pick a lighter shade for the ceiling.

I totally love the tree, and some of the other details (the flag banner, the Sarahjane bunny print, the quality toys displayed on the shelf) but I have to say that pink really hurts my eyes.

Thanks to all of you for writing such nice comments! (Hyzen, I'm sure everyone says this, but I swear that the color is much prettier in person. :)
Alex17, the tree is a decal. I would have loved to paint it myself, but putting up the decal only took an afternoon....painting it would have, for sure, taken me weeks!
Cheers!

This is the cutest nursery ever. I love the polka dots, the raspberry pink, light pink and chocolate brown color scheme and the attention to detail that ties it all together. It looks delicious!

Where did you get your birds on a branch mobile? It's exactly the type of mobile I was trying to find for my sons room.
view Shayla99's profile
I'm guessing that the mobile is a DIY one using the plush bird pattern from Spool? Even if not, if you're looking for one like that Shayla, either you or someone you know who sews could make it using fabrics you picked out. I'm planning to myself actually!
Also, I'm not a "pink" person myself, but I can appreciate when it's done well. A little too bright for me, but hey, I think the nursery is as much about the person who is going to spend the most time there (probably mom) as well as the baby. I love how the white bookcase pops especially with the toy.

Beautiful! Where is that awesome tree decal from?
view jhill's profile
I found the decal on Etsy. It was very inexpensive (at least as far as giant decals go) The seller used to be called SoStuckUp, but I think he/she is now called MarkJamesDesign.
