Ohdeedoh Kids' Color Contest
Entry #8: Haley's Passion Pink Punch

haleysroom1-contest.jpg

Name: Kim
Location: Virginia
Children: Haley, 14 months and Cameron, due in June

Inspiration: Haley was born at a time when everything else around us was being painted black. When fixing up her room, I wanted it to be a reflection of good times past and happy times to come... a celebration of new life, love, and a new home.

Inspiration continued:
To do so, I incorporated many pieces of sentimental value to us and hunted down those that added a bright, cheery and warming touch.

Tip for Using Color: Color isn't limited to the walls. Take ordinary pieces and make them pop with a funky coat of acrylic paint (i.e., Haley's pastel pink bench and her lime green mirror.) Take a colorful arrangement of books and add them to a bookshelf to liven up the space or an undoubtedly colorful wardrobe and make a happy feature in the room by hanging it on clothing rack of sorts. Rugs, artwork, painted wooden letters... there are so many ways to bring color into a space!

Colors Used: Lowe's Valspar Passion Pink

This room comes together so well. It has a minimalist quality that works. The color brings it together. It's not your typical pink! Good luck in the runnings. And best of health for you and baby #2! :)

this room has inspired me to rethink my plan for my daughter's nursery. my original idea was a pale soothing aqua blue, but now i love the idea of a strong, deep pink. i never would have considered this for a baby's room. so pretty!!!
