Speaking of chandeliers...how lovely is this bird chandelier created by green/diy guru Danny Seo? It was inspired by a lighting fixture he once saw in an antique store costing thousands of dollars, but he made this one for about $15! Find his materials list below the jump.
This project is completely do-able and would be a charming addition to a baby or child's room. The materials are easy to find:
The bird chandelier is part of his makeover of actress Kerry Washington's apartment (featured in O: The Oprah Magazine in June) and it replaced track lighting. Holy crap, my boyfriend and I made the exact same thing (almost) a couple years ago, although we dismantled a light fixture we got at Home Depot for the light and made the rest of the body by hand. Ours was inspired by something I saw in an Anthropologie catalog that was incredibly expensive.
