Project: All Aboard the Imagination Book

Elle's very first experiment from Little Stitches was Amy Butler's Imagination Book, and we think you'll agree it was a great success!

amy-butler-book.jpgExplain how Amy Butler inspired this entry:
Oh, I do love me some Amy Butler! Whether it be her patterns or her fabric, her design is right up my ally! I love the Little Stitches for Little Ones book and had to try my hand at her Imagination Book first. I used assorted bright colored fabric centered around a Choo-Choo train print which is the theme for the babies nursery and I love how it turned out. I opted to use a ribbon tie for the case and it looks so cute all tied up. Everything Amy Butler puts out inspires me and makes me want to sew more and more.

How did you make your project and what items did you use?
Fortunately, I happen to have a heat press, so that made transferring the images super easy. It does require a bit more than your basic equipment to make this book, but if you have a scanner, an inkjet printer, an iron and a sewing machine, it whips up easy. You can purchase the transfer paper at any craft store or Target/Walmart. Just scan in the images and print onto a t-shirt transfer. Then cut around each image and heat press onto your neutral background. The rest is basic sewing.

This is gorgeous. I love Elle's selection of black and white images a whole lot better than the typical apple and circle. Are these available for purchase? #2 is on the way and this would be great to have around......
