Entry #11: Matryohska Doll

Name: Emily
Project:
Mother Carrying Baby Matryohska Doll

As a fan of babywearing, Emily was inspired to create these mother and child Matryohska softies. What a darling pair they make...

Explain how Amy Butler inspired this entry:
Amy Butler's fabrics call to me with their gorgeous colors and patterns! They are so appealing to young and old alike.

How did you make your project and what items did you use?: I made my own matryoshka pattern involving machine and hand sewing, hand appliqué and hand embroidery. I love babycarrying so wanted to make lovely doll mothers carrying thier babies in a sling. After playing with various designs I came up with this one. I use fabric, thread, embroidery thread, and polyfil.
