We found the book 365 Penguins, by Jean-Luc Fromental, at our local library and fell in love with the bold graphics, cute story and in particular the fabulous decor the family in the book has.

The great illustrations by Joëlle Jolivet illlustrate how perfectly French this imaginary family is. Fabulous house? Check! Iconic furniture? (We suspect they might be knock-offs.) Check! A nerdy hot dad? Check! 365 penguins? Check, check, check!
Besides being fun to look at, the book does have a plot. A mysterious person mails one penguin a day to an unsuspecting family. As the penguins keep coming, they have to figure out ways to store the penguins and live them; hilarity ensues.
