We recently attended a baby shower where the hostess of the party designed a special garland, which she hung over the fireplace mantel, for the guest of honor.
The garland was made up of tiny hand-crocheted pants, bibs, booties and sweaters held onto the garland with the smallest of clothes pins. The effect was charming and the mother-to-be had a special keepsake from her day.

When asked what she would do with the garland, the mother-to-be proudly exclaimed she would be hanging it in her son's room.
Very darling.

it would be cooler if all the items were actual garments, thus usable. garland and present, keepsake and money saver. or is that the idea already? i couldn't tell by the mother's comment.
