We love grey and hits of black for ourselves. And we've recently seen a trend towards grey in the nursery. Here's a beautiful example of these "adult" colors used to perfection in a shared nursery.

We love the juxtaposition of traditional and modern, rustic and sleek, childlike and sophisticated. For more incredible photos of this black and grey nursery, read this post on Design Sponge.
that's one depressing room, nightmare inducing even

I agree with anapanda. That's depressing. Maybe if the crib were another color. Or the sheets. Or the mobile. Or something. I like the woodland theme - the natural mobile, the trees - but combined with all that grey and black, the space takes on a real Edgar Allen Poe vibe. Appealing, perhaps, to a goth 13-year-old, but really sad for an infant.

that one pic does seem a little dark, but having looked at the rest of the pics - the room is actually much lighter and i find that the design overall is charming, not at all "nightmare inducing".

This room looks like a set from "The Addams Family" (Wednesday's room, perhaps?). It's just too drab for a child's room, IMO...aren't we supposed to try to stimulate children with color? I can see using the darker neutrals as a background, with pops of bright color, but this room really falls flat.

Don't be hating on this design. This anti-primary colors mom thinks this room is A-W-E-S-O-M-E.
And let's not forget that infants can only see black and white at the beginning, so this kid will be ahead of the game.
She can always add in spot color if she wants later.

I like it - but i think it could use a few more (or brighter) spot colours. love the woodland items though - really well done.

The desing is nice but the colors.no
Yes depressing. Yes babies can on;y see black and white in the beginning but is color really going to hurt. stimulate those babies and let kids be kids don't choose adult colors because you can't stand kids things.
