Talk about a color makeover! We have an Ikea Expedit bookcase in our home, too, but it doesn't look nearly this good. At first we thought this was a paint job, but it's actually easier than that...

The project is a creation of Flickr user Super*Junk (see more photos of her cool space here.) All she did was cover the insides of each Expedite cubby with colored paper and add some lights to show it off. We can imagine using a few different decorative papers or wrapping paper to give the project even more pizazz.

Ooh, great idea! There's an Expedit in my toddler's room that's always bothered me because it's so blocky and boring looking. I'm totally doing this!

What a great idea - we have an Expedit shelf, and this is what I have to do with it to make it look more fun! Please pay me a visit and read about the extraordinary designer exhibition Casa Cor that is taking place in Stockholm right now. Please also spread the word about it - I need all the marketing help I can get :-)!
Take care, Annica

Isn't the Expedit thicker? Those shelves seem so nice and thin. I think of Expedit as made of chunky Lack shelves.

Jenzoe, only the outside edges of the Expedit are chunky like that...the inside are quite thin. I like this design!
