She purchased the glider and ottoman on Craigslist and went to work sewing new cushion covers and using her handy staple gun to secure the arm pads in place. She's provided some tips and more detailed photos on her great blog, Creative Little Daisy.

My mother in law did this for us when our first baby was born. The glider rocker was hers from the 80s when my husband was a baby. It was very ugly, but then she recovered it in this modern orange fabric with sketches of jungle animals on it and now it looks great. Well, as great as it can look anyway, but it is super comfortable. Even though I would love a modern rocking chair, I really like to see new life breathed into something past its prime.
