We were just thinking the other day how glad we were to receive a rain/snow stroller cover as a gift because it's exactly the kind of thing we hate to spend money on. It's a great item to have, but not exactly a fun purchase. Well, what if you could spend $4 on a stroller cover like this mom who used ingenuity and a few inexpensive and free items to fashion her own?

She used cheap vinyl tableclothes and, most cleverly, repurposed the clear plastic packaging from a quilt she'd purchased. The cover fits her stroller snugly and is held in place with velcro. She's had it for several years which is a testament to its sturdiness. For the final touch, she made herself a matching rain hood with the leftover tablecloth material. See more photos of her project on Craftster.

What a great idea!! Sending this page to my sewing friend to see what she can fashion for my new stroller. Thanks for the ingenuity...I love resourceful people/ideas!

Our stroller came with its own rain/snow cover. I thought that was standard practice.
