Look! Handmade Willow Playhouse

Playhouse weather isn't quite here for us, but still -- wow -- we just had to share this fabulous handmade playhouse we recently spotted on Etsy. According to its designer, "I designed it when my daughter was two and I just couldn't contemplate having one of those ghastly plastic Wendy houses in our garden!" This is definitely an improvement!

Handmade in the UK of natural English willow, this house is designed to delight your child's imagination for a few years. And when its time is over, after serving as everything from a castle to a teepee, it can return to the elements gracefully, as either mulch, kindling, or compost.

Unfortunately, these made-to-order houses are available only in the UK... unless you really, really, REALLY want one, in which case you should convo the designer and see if you can work things out.

That's really cool!

You should google "Living willow playhouse." We planted one in our backyard from willow cuttings. They are super freaking awesome. (Ours is currently..um, less awesome.)

Oh my - that is so beautiful! I can't believe how well made it looks. My question is - how long does it take to make? It looks like it wouldn't be easy to put together so kudos to the creator! :)
