An old friend in disguise. We spotted this IKEA hack of the Gulliver crib at IKEA Hacker.

The couple explains the project: (below the jump)

...we bought some nice laminated wood and cut new end panels, using the old end piece as a template for all the screw holes. we milled out a little design detail and we had a unique modern crib.

From your comments, we know a few of you have painted or otherwise hacked your Gullivers. Please share photos and how-tos with us at nursery(at)apartmenttherapy(dot)com.

I'm currently in the process of kinda-hacking a Tassa crib. I can't wait to get enough time to finish it!

I like the nice added touch with the sharp angles at the top to hopefully harm your newborn with. :)

exxon23 - sounds fun; you'll have to share with The Nursery.

Yeah, I'd probably take a router to those top edges.

Or you could use the Ikea Patrull corner bumpers on those sharp edges. ;)
