Look! Mismatched DIY Headboards

These caught our eye when we were cruising ATLA the other day: intentionally mismatched headboards to avoid that matchy-matchy look that so often plagues shared bedrooms. Best of all, you can make them yourself.

The idea comes from this article in Cookie magazine, which gives detailed instructions as well as tips and suggestions for other pattern pairings.

We love upholstery as a way of resuscitating a plain second-hand headboard, and having perused the instructions, we think that even a novice (i.e. ourselves) could do this. Bring on the staple gun.
