Look! Naturally Modern Nursery

More inspiration. We went back to the Better Homes & Garden online archive to find this nature-inspired modern nursery.

The photo shows two little girls, but we think the decor easily could make this a little boy's room as well.

The wall stencil is an eye-catcher. The articles says to use acrylic paint a few shades darker than the wall color to hand-paint a tree trunk and branches, then add birds and leaves as desired. We like that it's free flowing and not perfect. It reminds us of the Flowers in Blue post sent in by reader Rachel.

According to the write-up, the room has no closets, so the owners improvised.

They used kitchen cabinets to create built-in storage. Enviable. The glass cabinet doors make the brightly colored toys and blankets peeking through the focus. We also love the plush circle rugs.

The changing table is actually a kitchen cart. The bracketless floating shelf above is a convenient place to display photos and keepsakes, and works to frame the area.

I LOVE this room - it's peaceful, yet vibrant and fresh. Using kitchen cabinets is a great idea! I'll be at Home Depot today checking it out. Thanks for the super tips!

Oh my goodness - this nursery is so great! Does anyone know where those rugs are from? Or the fabric on the windowseat cushion? Thanks!
